A Local Partner for Your Business Transition
Tierney Capital is a private investment firm that acquires and holds established B2B businesses throughout Chester County and the Greater Philadelphia area.
What We Buy
Unlike massive corporate private equity funds that flip companies, we are a localized holding company taking a permanent, long-term view. We buy solid, everyday businesses. We focus exclusively on essential B2B businesses located across Chester County, Montgomery County, Delaware County, Bucks County, and the broader Greater Philadelphia region in the following core sectors:
1. B2B Distribution & Supply (The Suppliers): Wholesale plumbing and electrical supply houses, industrial fastener distributors, hydraulic parts suppliers, and contractor equipment rental companies.2. Essential Commercial Trades (The Maintainers): Commercial plumbing, commercial HVAC/R, mechanical contractors, commercial electrical contractors, and commercial paving and sealcoating outfits.3. Light Manufacturing & Job Shops (The Makers): Precision CNC machine shops, custom metal fabrication facilities, and specialty sub-assembly production shops.4. Commercial Exterior & Facility Maintenance (The Caretakers): Commercial grounds management (commercial landscaping), corporate snow and ice management, commercial roofing repair and preventative maintenance, and exterior pressure washing and building restoration.5. Commercial Safety & Environmental Services (The Compliance Partners): Fire suppression and extinguisher testing firms, backflow prevention testing contractors, commercial grease trap and interceptor maintenance, and industrial liquid waste handling.6. Commercial Route-Based Services (The Daily Operators): B2B commercial cleaning and janitorial companies, commercial pest control outfits, and uniform and linen supply services.
The Situation & Leadership Requirements
We partner with owners looking for either a full or partial exit, but operational continuity and a turnkey management structure are our top priorities. To ensure a seamless handover, an autonomous General Manager (GM), shop foreman, or lead operator must already be in place. This looks like one of two scenarios:A Full Exit: The owner transitions out completely following a structured 12-month consulting period, while a capable GM manages day-to-day operations, field crews, and staff.A Partial Exit: The current owner rolls over a minority equity stake and steps back from day-to-day management, with an autonomous GM handling daily operations while the former owner shifts to a purely passive, advisory capacity.
WHO WE ARE

Tierney Capital is led by Managing Principal Bob Tierney. Our approach to acquisitions is deeply personal. After my late father passed away, I was too young to take over the family car dealership he had successfully run for 35 years. I saw firsthand what happens to a life's work and a family's legacy when a clear transition plan isn't in place.Because of that experience, we look beyond the spreadsheets to evaluate the culture, the operations, and the people that make a business successful. As a private equity holding firm, we do not operate the businesses we acquire. Instead, we act as the Board of Directors—providing capital allocation, financial oversight, and strategic guidance while leaving daily execution and leadership entirely in the hands of the local General Manager and expert field teams.Bob is a proud Chester County resident, where he lives with his wife, Drea, and their son, RJ, while serving businesses across the entire Greater Philadelphia metro area. When you partner with Tierney Capital, you are keeping your business local, protecting your employees, and ensuring your company continues to thrive in the community.
